I paint with oil on stretched and prepared canvas, though lately I have also been painting on prepared birch plywood.
My painting imagery is more or less in the genre of landscape, as the environments in which I live and have resided and visited have strong emotional and sometimes physical effects on me. An uneasiness or a nervous energy can be found in many of my paintings, even though the image might seem at first tranquil. Other paintings, obviously, are quite stormy. This world has much to offer; I am constantly nervous I am wasting my time by not seeing it all.
Likewise, spaces can be loved like family members, and held sacred in our hearts. A fear, or uneasiness, is felt at the thought of losing privilege to that space, whether it is a family home site, body of water, or a quiet, secret spot under a tree in the woods.
