Intaglio is a form of printmaking which describes the process of creating a plate with recessed lines, the lines creating the printed image. To print the image, the entire surface of the plate is covered in ink and then the non-etched or carved areas are wiped clean. The ink stays down in the grooves on the plate and when the plate is put under pressure with paper, the image is printed.
Lithography is a separate process which is based on the premise that grease does not mix with water. Litho is a labor of love for me, but access is limited to litho presses. I have a Conrad etching press at home.
My prints, unless they are monoprints (only one), belong to an edition.
Please contact me if you are interested in a particular print. I can see how many, if any, are left in the edition.
